Standard-Issue PDC Personal Data Device (PDD)

Every operative in the Prime Defense Corps is issued a Shard—a compact, rugged personal data device designed for field operations, mission support, and internal diagnostics. Slim enough to clip to armor or fit inside a coat, the Shard operates through voice activation, manual input, or neural prompt (if paired with a Synaptic Anchor).

Each branch of the PDC installs its own suite of tactical apps and protocols, customizing the Shard to reflect its doctrine and operational needs. Infantry Shards may emphasize environmental targeting and squad telemetry; logistics Shards prioritize inventory and comms.

No matter the variant, all Shards transmit diagnostics directly to ORACLE—the system's central military intelligence core.

Just like a regular PDD, a Shard grants a free reroll on Common Knowledge checks when used to search for information, access archives, or pull data from connected systems.

Officer-Issued Shards

Officers and elite field operatives receive a specialized version of the Shard, embedded with a restricted-access AI known as Delphi.

Delphi does not suggest cat videos.

Delphi does not look up food recipes.

Delphi calculates kill trajectories, advises on mutinous behavior, and remembers insubordination.

All insubordination.

Delphi speaks what ORACLE permits.

Treat those words as if spoken by the Supreme Commander herself.

Unity is Strength.
